Barnett Crossbow Facts: Because of the extreme design characteristics of Barnett Crossbows it is pretty easy to blow one up with a dry fire scenario; the cause of this is; improper arrow weight being used in that imparticular crossbow and or improper arrow nock.
Barnett Crossbows recommends; When using a Predator, Revolution XS, Revolution, or Quad 400, a 22” carbon arrow shaft with half moon nock.
(The total weight of the arrow should be about 450 grains.)
Barnett Crossbows recommends; When using the Quad 300 (also may use the 22” carbon listed above or 20" aluminum 2219 shaft size.)
Note: 2219 = 22/64" outside arrow diameter, .019" arrow wall thickness.
Barnett Crossbows recommends; When using the Rhino Quad, Rhino Sport Magnum, and Wildcat C5 a 20" carbon shaft always with half moon nock.
(The total weight of the arrow should be about 425 grains.)
Barnett Crossbows recommends; When using the Panzer V, RX-150, RC-150, Wildcat III, Wildcat XL, Ranger, Rhino Recurve, or Commando II Recurve, 16" - 18" 2216 shaft size with half moon nock.
Note: 2216 = 22/64" outside arrow diameter, .016" arrow wall thickness.
(The total weight of the arrow should be about 372 grains.)
Always use arrows with half moon nocks.
The last factor to be aware of when shooting Barnett Crossbows is this; always check while shooting your crossbow for anything that may vibrate loose causing eratic accuracy. All crossbows vibrate severly, it is just their nature by design.
Once again Barnett engineers realized this and created the new AVI system for Barnett Crossbows. (Anti-Vibration Isolator)
Anti Vibration Isolator systerm is a unique process that utilizes a special soft-touch material that covers each limb, dramatically, reducing vibration. This system absorbs the shock and vibration in the crossbow and reduces crossbow noise.
Barnett Crossbow Summary: We tested the four fastest crossbows that Barnett Crossbows offers; Wildcat C5, Quad 400, Revolution and Predator, we experienced no failures of any kind. As we tested these crossbows we followed a strict regiment of shoot ten arrows and use barnett's lube wax as to their recommendation, after hundreds of arrows launched from these crossbows we didn't even see string erosion let alone catastrophic crossbow failure.
The real fun started when we got out the revolution and had a nice competition going on at the 75 yard mark as to who shot better us or the crossbow. This question got answered when the competition moved out to 85 yards. It was time then to bring out the Barnett Speed Meister; Predator, then the ultimate question was answered when we hit the 100 yard mark and one small group of 5 arrows were shot into a 2 1/2" circle, I think this sums it up quite well.
